MISHKIN FITZGERALD

Piano, Accordion, Song-Writing, Performance, Music Theory, Composition.

Mishkin is an advanced piano teacher, as well as a singer and accordionist. Initially starting out as self-taught, she was then classically trained by 3 different concert pianists: Robert Orledge, Helen Burford and Maggie Anderson.

She studied at Notting Hill School, Ealing, London where she learned flute and singing. After gaining her degrees in Brighton (Digital Music and Composition) she opened the teaching school in 2010 with just a handful of keen students. During this time she completed her ABRSM grades and performed her first concerts with local rock band Birdeatsbaby and her solo project The Chemical Perils. She continues to play keys in the rock bands and also does a lot of arrangement for various Brighton-based artists.

Mishkin teaches ABRSM/Trinity Grades, and a range of styles – classical, jazz, blues, contemporary, rock and pop. Also theory, song-writing and composition. Her forte is piano but she also teaches accordion, singing and flute up to an intermediate level.

More recently she has been mentoring several artists with song-writing and arrangement, helping them build performance confidence, an online profile and offering music business based on her personal experience.

“My teaching style is relaxed and fun but I’m also very passionate about my student getting results, so if you are keen and willing to practice I can help you progress quickly. I have an extensive range of musical knowledge, specifically in piano and music theory and you will find my approach encouraging and forward-thinking. I’ve been teaching for almost 10 years now, helping people become musicians is the most rewarding job you could do.”
